Yay for Make it Mondays!!

A while back, a long while back   Once upon a time a long time ago, a mommy decided she wanted to start a blog.  Little did she realize how much work it was going to be.  Instead of pushing through she got lazy!

Haha okay okay in all seriousness one of the reasons I started this blog was because I just wanted a spot to be accountable.  I was making bows, a ton of bows and I thought it would be fun to share.  Then I decided to open an etsy shop and got lazy again.

So now that we are moved in to the new house, I know I keep mentioning that but it truly can be a blessing in disguise, I'm back at it.

So Make it Monday will feature any new bows I have made for that week.  If I don't have any, I won't post Make it Monday.

So here's to Make it Monday and a fun celebration of Christmas in July!

I was really debating on Christmas in July, but before we know it, Christmas will be here in a flash.  Here are some bows I had last year in my etsy shop.  If you weren't around last year, they'll be new.  If you were around and remember, you'll see they are at a new price, lets call it a sale!  Hope you enjoy!

All the details of these bows are listed on my etsy page...

Super cute Rudolphette ;)

Welcome to Fabulous Finds Friday!

I love to shop!  I'm sure I'm not the only one.  I've heard people say they hate shopping, ummm not me!  I don't get to go as much as I want to but I still manage to get myself out.  Now that we are so far away from town, I make sure only what I love comes home with me.  With that thought I decided why not share on Fridays?! Let's make that, Fabulous Finds Friday!  Since I don't go out every week, I'll have a wide variety of Fabulous Finds.  Food, clothes, toys, craft supplies, you name it, I'll probably have it at some point in time!

So join me as I show you all the fabulous stuff I found out in town this week.

P.S. If you ever need help being convinced to buy something, I'm your girl!  Just today my friend Arianna said to Christine, "Michelle can convince anyone to buy just about anything!! Trust me!!!"  Guilty...Right HERE!

Welcome to:

This past week, I had to go in to town to return something and make sure I picked something up for our upcoming trip to San Diego.  This is not a usual haul but I pretty much only buy things on sale, unless, I HAVE to have it.. oh I probably shouldn't even have said that!  I HAVE to have a lot. Oh well, enjoy!

First up, Target!  How cute is this Globe?  I was walking out of the store and saw this in the Office Supply aisle.  Because who can leave Target without checking out the Office Supply aisle?!

Globes are hard to find now so I knew I couldn't even think twice on this one!

Next up is Hobby Lobby.

I bought these little mini lamp shades for a future project.  They were originally $3.99 but were on sale for 50% off! PERFECT!

Love this fabric!

I LOVE fleur-de-lis and animal print.  Clearance, SCORE!!!  This is for a future project as well.

A while back I had eyed a really pretty set of blocks for a calendar.  It was $50 and I really wasn't too excited to spend that much.  It was really big too.  I have a calendar in the kitchen so I didn't really need another.  BUT when I saw this wood calendar blocks set, it was PERFECT!! Everyone in the house is always wondering what the date is. This was perfect, my colors, $11.99 and I used a 40% coupon on it.  It HAD to come home with me.  The kids have been trading off switching the dates.  Originally I had wanted to put it on my desk but figured I would put it somewhere that we could all see it.  Now we know what the date is!

Next up, Kohl's.  Future Project!  hehe, I can't wait!  I had seen these all over the place a few months ago.  I LOVED it but didn't buy it because I figured I wouldn't have a spot for it in the house.  With this new project I am working on, I do.  I started obsessing over wanting to find it.  I checked everywhere and couldn't find it.  My heart was broken, then I thought, Kohls! I scored big time!  It was 50% off!

Last but certainly not least, my BEAUTIFUL, Emily Ley Simplified Journal.  If you haven't seen this, please check out her website rather than go by my photos.  It is BEAUTIFUL! I am absolutely in love with this journal.

I absolutely love her quote, "I will hold myself to a standard of Grace not perfection"

The inside cover.

I'm too scared to write my name!  I don't want to mess it up.

The journal layout.  No pre-dated pages.  That makes it nice to not feel pressured in writing everyday.

Brain dump, for all those things that never go away.

I just love the layout.  A spot to journal, Today I feel, This went well today and This was challenging today.

And in case you missed my post on my new thirty-one bags, you can go here to check them out.

I hope you enjoyed my little shopping spree.  Next week I'll be posting some finds from San Diego!! Woot Woot, I am so excited for that!

*DISCLAIMER - I did NOT receive anything free, all these opinions are my own, and I bought them myself. :)

Our Pool Essentials

Now that summer weather is upon us, the pool is looking super good!  In our new home we are lucky enough to live directly behind the base pool.  I must admit I am an indoor person and even more so since we all keep finding ticks on us!  EWWWWW gross!!!!!  But, I can't stay inside all summer and neither can the kids.

Recently a new friend invited me to a thirty-one party.  I was super excited because I had seen the flip flop design, that I missed out on last year, was available again.  EEEeeek I was there!

I have a lot of thirty-one bags already but after seeing this print, I HAD to make an excuse to buy it.  And with this months special, spend $35 and get a Deluxe Utility Tote for $25 or a Large Utility Tote for $10, I couldn't resist.

I was able to get everything I wanted at the party and it was delivered super fast!  This had me thinking that I had to get a pool kit together.  Like I said before I have a ton of thirty one bags but because I have a touch of OCD, I HAD to have this print specifically for the pool and beach trips.

The bags I bought are, the Medium Thermal Zipper, Thermal Tote and the super cute Manicure Nail File in the Fun Flops design.  This got me to $35.  I decided to go with the Deluxe Utility Tote for $25.  I mean how CUTE are these bags.  I officially have a designated set for the pool and the beach.

In the Medium Thermal Zipper I carry a couple of the essentials.  Bandaids, Neosporin, Kleenex and baby oil.  For some reason EVERY time we go to the pool, someone scrapes a toe, a knee, something, so that helps!  Now I'll always be ready.

Everything fits in there with room to spare!

Next, in the Thermal Tote, is our snacks.  We usually eat lunch about one hour before we leave so I take very minimal snacks to the pool.  They usually come out for a drink and a really quick snack and jump right back in to the pool.

I think I might need to add a coordinating tote so I can add more water and maybe an ice pack.  The tote closes just perfectly with all this inside.

There are three pockets on the front side.  I throw the sunblock in the front pocket.

Two towels, two totes and goggles, and I have PLENTY of room to add more stuff in there.

I know there are plenty of bags that you can use to go to the beach and pool but having this set makes me feel put together.  I know it sounds silly but it really does.  I'm not searching for what to put where or what can I fit this or that in, it's done.  All ready to go!

If you don't have a thirty-one consultant, Tiffany was super helpful and super sweet.  Here is a link to her website  If you have any questions you can contact her through her website and possibly host an online party.  If you like this print for the Large utility tote or the Deluxe Utility Tote,  it's only available for these bags in June so make sure and grab it up.

Hope you enjoy those beach and pool days!  I know we are!

*DISCLAIMER - I did not receive anything or the bags for this post.  These are all my opinions and I truly LOVE them :)

How I Organize A Small Bathroom

When we received our orders for our new duty station, the first thing I did was hopped online to check out the floor plan to our new home. (We live in military housing so I was able to check it out ahead of time.) I knew that the floor plan would not be exactly the same as shown on the website but it would give me an idea.  The very first thing I noticed was, ONE BATHROOM!!! You heard me, one bathroom.  That's for four people.  Now I know lots of people have one bathroom but coming from a home that had two and a half bathrooms, this was a shock for me.  I truly didn't know what I was going to do.

After seeing what I was going to have to deal with, I starting cruising the world wide web.  I found quite a few ideas online and on Pinterest.  Thankfully through Pinterest I found a beautifully organized bathroom from Samantha at Simply Organized.  If you're not following her, you should be.  I have found so much inspiration from her.  I LOVE the shelving unit she put up.  I was really hoping to be able to do that when we moved in to the new house but when we saw it, I knew there was no way it was possible.

From my Bathroom Pinterest board, I was super inspired but I just had to decide what would realistically work.

Here's the before of our bathroom:

and under the sink

As you can see,  we were dealing with a super small bathroom.  When we first moved in I literally threw everything under the sink.  But no excuses.  I had to make this work for four people.

First things first, organizing under the cabinet.  I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to get this organizer that I had seen in a circular.

I only bought the bottom piece because even with taking the measurements, I'm not really sure the top piece will fit.  I just might take that 45 minute drive chance just in case Magic happens but for now, this will do.

As you can see it made a HUGE difference.  I was so happy.

I always keep extra trash bags at the bottom of the trash can.  Great space saver and I always know where I'm at with trash bags.

Here's a shot of the bathroom from our hallway.  Sorry for the dark pictures, there is NO window in site!

Here's my favorite part of the bathroom!

I decided I really needed storage that would work but had to figure out how it could look pretty at the same time.

Using jars on the shelves was a great idea.  Daily items are easily accessible and everything is white so it looks pretty.  We use q-tips everyday.

I keep the cover on the extra soap because of the precipitation when we take showers.  I don't want them to stick together when I need one.  And it helps when the soap matches, wink wink.

Cotton balls don't get used on a regular basis so they are on the top shelf.

And the flowers, well they're just pretty!

I know it looks like something is missing in the shower...

I love my shower hooks

And this is why our shower supplies are hidden with the shower curtain.  I LOVE having everything in front of us.  Everything stays clean and doesn't get mildewy (is that a word?!) directly under the shower head.

Here's a view of the shower from the hallway without the shower curtain covering it.

See how it makes a difference...

Here's my other favorite part of the bathroom.  I went to Ikea and bought the Fintorp rail and three of the flatware caddies to use for our toothbrush and toothpaste.  As you can see there is no counter space so I had to utilize every inch I could.

The grown up toothbrushes and toothpaste.

A plant in the middle, because well, I had to have it.  And it adds a decorative touch.

The kiddos stuff.  It's the perfect height for them.  My six year old has no trouble getting to it.

Sharing a bathroom as small as ours is, that Glade is a necessity!

My husband has to shave everyday for work so this is a must.  There really is no way of hiding it that would please me and make him ok with it being hidden, so here it stays.

A small dustpan hung up with a Command hook.

Here is the inside of the medicine cabinet.  Nothing exciting going on here.

Here is my other, OTHER,  favorite part of the bathroom.

Originally there was a towel bar.  Realistically one towel bar was not going to work for all of our towels.  This was a perfect compromise.  Since we are renting, we kept the towel bar in a storage bin so we can replace it when we move out.

Here's the crowns up close.  I LOVE them!

The next thing I did for storage was hung up a clear hanging shoe rack.  My mom is probably twitching right  now.  I know it's an eye sore but realistically it works.  We are here everyday.  Everything we need is within reach and we really don't have any storage.  If we don't want guests to see it we can always take it down and put it behind our bedroom door for a temporary fix.  But really I don't mind it because most of the houses in our neighborhood are one bathroom so if a neighbor stops by and has to use the potty, they may think I'm a genius!  Hmm, that's very rare for me so I might just keep it up.

Top row has cleaning supplies and Band Aids.  I know, weird combination.  I think I just realized it hehe.

The second row holds our dental floss, free samples from the dentist always a plus!  Adult toothbrushes, kids toothbrushes, and my razors.  Looks like I need to stock up on those!

Third row, hair stuff for my daughter and I, and nail supplies.

Fourth row, deodorant for hubby and I and body lotion.  The body lotion is at a perfect level that we don't even need to take it out of the pocket.

Fifth row, make up towelettes, body spray, Chapstick (well technically Blistex) and mouth fluoride for the kids.

The last row holds the lids for the jars on the shelves, extra travel Kleenexes, an empty pocket and cleaning wipes.  I leave it a little open so I can grab a wipe quickly.

This was a pretty easy project.  So far everything we really need in the bathroom is there.  I am not searching the house for extras of anything we need which is a huge help.  We really haven't had as many issues as we thought we would with one bathroom.  I'm just glad there is Glade in there!
